Ayden Owens-Delerme, Arkansas: 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year

Ayden Owens-Delerme was named the National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season. Owens-Delerme, who hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dominated the decathlon in 2022. Most recently, Owens-Delerme won the 10-eventer – and tied the meet record of 8457 points – at the NCAA DI Outdoor Championships. Earlier in the season, Owens-Delerme took down the since-broken wind-legal collegiate record in the decathlon with his 8528-point total at the Mt. SAC Relays. Owens-Delerme is the second athlete in collegiate history with a pair of scores better than 8450 in the same year.
